The elegant giraffe is the national animal of Tanzania, where PAMS was founded in 2009. This iconic animal is deeply symbolic to both our story and the ethos of our organization. With its magnificent height, the giraffe stands above the noise in the bush, looking at the bigger picture, while taking bold strides forward. Although they are large, they are quiet and place an emphasis on getting on with their work rather than just making a noise about it! Giraffes also live in groups representing strong family values and teamwork. These are all qualities embodied in the PAMS spirit.

An African proverb says “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.  That’s why there are two giraffes instead of one. Two represents love, teamwork, companionship, and strength. We are working for long term solutions – not quick, temporary fixes. To achieve those big goals, like the giraffe, we support each other and always go together.
