Achievements and Awards

  • In October 2019, the late Wayne Lotter was awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for the 2018 Ranger Awards on behalf of The Thin Green Line Foundation, the International Ranger Federation and International Union for Conservation of Nature/World Commission of Protected Areas (IUCN/WCPA).
  • In September 2019, PAMS received an award from Leadership for Conservation in Africa for ‘’absolute commitment to ensure that the communities in and adjacent to conservation areas are treated and respected as the primary role player in the protection of nature’’.
  • In August 2019, PAMS was awarded the Clark R. Bavin Award for excellence in Wildlife Enforcement at a ceremony held at CITES COP18 in Geneva.
  • PAMS received a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of its efforts in Combating Wildlife Trafficking from USAID in May 2018.
  • PAMS was honoured by Empowers Africa as a ‘’On the front-line - Hero’s Fighting Wildlife Crime’’ at their annual event at the Explorers Club in New York in April 2018.  
  • PAMS received an award on behalf of the late Wayne Lotter in recognition of his to contribution to international wildlife trafficking enforcement in September 2017 from US Fish & Wildlife Services.
  • Maximillan Jenes Swai received the Young Conservationist of the Year Award in 2014, at the World Parks Congress in Sydney, Australia.
  • PAMS hosted the World Ranger Congress in 2014 in Tanzania.
